Please help.
Feeding my 4 week old baby seems to be torture for both of us. At some feedings (mostly at night) he drinks fine (slowly), burps and goes back to sleep. But during most of the feedings he seems to gulp. I can hear and feel rumbling in his stomach and he begins to scream...and I mean SCREAM...for what seems like hours (but is probably more like a half hour) until I can calm him. He has trouble burping when he's upset like that. At times he only has to take a few sips before this happens. I try to get him to calm down before he eats to eliminate this gulping but it doesn't seem to work. It's come to the point that I dread feeding him and I begin to feel ill/stressed when he starts to wake up. Any advice?

P.S. We've already tried changing his formula to soy, but we've switched back because it didn't do any good.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi,
Have you tried changing the nipples on the bottle?? Maybe he doesn't like the ones that you are using!! Sometimes that can happen.

Hi,
Well I agree with Maggie maybe you should try some different nipples, shapes sizes, latex-silicone, slow flow, fast flow etc etc etc. Or even some differnt style bottles, like the playtex drop-ins - munchkin tri-flow etc etc etc.

Goodluck
