Co-sleeping isn't recommended by all the medical experts, because there are so many deaths caused by it. Plus, baby and mom don't get as good of sleep. (Friends of ours, the husband rolled over and suffocated the baby during the night.) However, I love snuggling with my daughter. So a couple times a week, for her late afternoon nap, she gets to take it in our bed and I lay with her; sometimes dozing myself. Also, for the early morning feeds (if you're breastfeeding) and terribly exhausted, bringing the baby in to bed and feeding while lying down was a life-saver for me. I wasn't really sleeping, but neither was I up in a chair awake. It was a great compromise.
