Growing/Sleeping

I think my 7 week old is in a growth spurt and starting to sleep through the night, and im not sure how to engourge this. He is approx 12lbs and during the day when hes not sleeping hes been eating 2 ozs every hour soemthimes 4oz. then at night im lucky if when he wakes up he eats an oz. i am a cosleeper and i think i should start to let him sleep on his own, how should i work this transition?? thanks for the help, and nay advice you have for anything on the above

he sleeps with a binky and when it falls out he wakes up how the h*ll do i keep that thing in

Hi,
Well yes it surely sounds like he is having a growth spurt and he's at the correct age for one, usually baby's have them at 4,6 and 12 weeks then again at around 6months and eight months... To encourage him to sleep through the night, try him him a dream feed, what that is at say around 10.30-11pm try giving him the breast or a bottle in his sleep, it's amazing how baby's will automaticaly sux=ck in their sleep. Then he should sleep through until about 6am!!! :D

As for sleeping on his own, I would go slowly and try putting him in his bassinet n yur room first and see how that goes, then if that goes ok then in a month or two you can transition him into his crib in his own room, ther is no hurry on that!!

No the binky, well try not giving it to him and see what he does, if he absolutely must have it, there are these things called wubanubs, they have a binky atttached to a little duck or a dog. I sell thse also check out this website www.bynkybuddy.com they sell regular binky's attached to stuffed animals, the animals helps them stay in thier little mouths.

thanks so much +) trying it now, i read some of your past advice, i put him down at 7pm with 2ozs then i will feed him at 9 and 11 then thats it, right? am i putting him down to early? should i try to make him stay awake?and how much do i feed him on these dream feeds and troughout the day?
he took the dream feed at 9, =)
and 4 oz at 11 but should i give him more sice its the last one and i cant get him to burp?
woke up at 4 this am =( ate 6ozs
