Colic

Hi, my son is 3 weeks old and his doctor diagnose him with Colic last Thursday. The doctor says he is healthy but has Colic and there is nothing that can be done for it. He cry's for hours - sometimes in the evening from roughly 5 - 9pm but now for the past couple of days it's been during the day 6am - 12pm and 11am - 6pm. I'm so frustrated that there is nothing that I can do to help alleviate the pain from the gas that he has. It breaks my heart to hear him screaming and see him crying. If they can diagnose this why can't they help him!

I was feeding him soy formula - Prosobee - but then realized that soy is a bean which will produce more gas. I stopped giving him that on Friday and switched to Good Start milk based. My husband says he sees a difference but I may be just too tired to see it. I am considering switching to the Emfil Nutramigen since I have heard and read it can help reduce the colic symptoms. I know it's more expensive but I don't care about costs. I also switched my bottles three times - I'm not using Dr. Brown's and Playtex Ventair; both seem to be making a little difference.

Has anyone tried Colic Ease? I was considering purchasing this also - it's all natural (5 herbs in it). I was wondering if it really helps. I'll try anything if it will help my baby.

Poor baby! :o Try some Gripe Water or Ovol drops...both work well for my son's colic. He is 5 weeks old.
