dropping a feed

i bottle feed my infant and can tell he is ready to drop a night time feed. any suggestions on how to do this? i have heard of different ways to do it; let the baby cry thru the feed, keep lowering the ounces until there are none left, or how about offering water? i'm confused and want to stick with one plan.

Hi Diannechick,
I would try lowering the ounces, I'm assuming he's taking 8oz right now, so tonight drop that to 6oz, keep giving him 6oz for two - three nights and then lower it to 4oz and keep lowering it until there is none left.

I find this always works very well when you are trying to drop that feed!!! :)
