With my first son I used only nursery water and most people I know with babies do also. The cost of nursery water in my local grocery store is more than double the price of plain distilled water. While comparing the labels between distilled water and nursery water the only difference I found was that nursery water is distilled water with flouride added. I thought flouride was for teeth and obviously babies dont have teeth for a while. So is it necessary to use the nursery water? Is it extra filtered and sterile or is the flouride something that babies must have? I appreciate any help you can offer on this.

Hi,
There is no need to buy the nursey water, yes it has flouride in it but in fact flouride is dangerous for babies in large amounts. The formula that you are feeding your baby probably already has flouride in it, I always use just regular bottled water, in general it's safer!! So go with the cheaper regular water and be on the safe side!!!

Thanks
