I jsut started Cayden on rice Cereal at 4 months old(he has GERD) im confused though how often i give it to him twice a day three times. I understand the whole tablesson with water or fromula, but how often? im jsut about to introduce oatmeal and barley cereal how often do i do that? and when does he get juice, and oh yeah when i start to give him food like fruit and such do i still give him cereal oh my this is so overwwhelming!!HELp <_<

Hi,
I know it can be very overwhelming, don't worry about your not the only one!!
I usually start them on once a day just so they can get used to it, because it's something that babies have to learn. It's a whole different tongue action!! Give it to him once a day for a two weeks and then if he seems to have gotten the hang of it you can increase it to two times a day! As for juice I never give my babies juice becuase it is empty calories and what you 'll notice is he will start wanting the sweet fruit juice and just fill up n that and not want to eat more healthy nutricous foods... As for the barley and oat ceral still give that to him once a day until he gets the hang og it, by that I mean his little tongue isn't thrusting it all back at you!!!

As for fruit and veg, yes you can still give him cereal. What I usually do is I will give them a little cereal with fruit for breakfast and maybe a little cereal with dinner!!!

As for when to give him his one meal I usually give it to them around 5pm or close to the next bottle time..

yep that helps he already eats wonderfully like a pro. i have been giving it to hime three times a day (rice cereal) for about five days now then he usually has a bottle. thanks sweeetheart

ps when do you stop giving them the bottle do i always give him abottle after he eats solids? i know i ask alot thanks for the patince

No problem ask away!!
You should give him the bottle until he is 12 months old!! Also you should give him the bottle after feeds until he's probably about 8-10 months old!!

You should always check with your doctor, because some of them have different opinions!! They usually start between 4-6 months!!
