I have a 2 month old. She is on a 3 hour schedule for the most part (7a-7p with a 10:30 dream feed and a 2am feed). She is doing great! Several questions
1) should I wait for her to drop the 2am feed or do I do something to eliminate this?

2) How much formula is best to get into a child throughout the day? I just stopped Bf'ing. I do 4 oz at most of the 7 feedings. Is this enough?

3) She tends to take long naps - 4 of them (last 1.5-2.5 hours). Could she be sleeping too much?

Thanks! It is nice there are others out there to provide support and advice.

I have a 2 month old too, and she has 7 feedings right now too.
We start at 7or 7:30 and end the day at 7:30 or 8. I don't do 3 hrs all the time. I guess my schedule is more flexible, but it is mainly to accomodate the things that I need to do during the day, etc. Her schedule is like this:

She eats around 7, 10, 12, 3, 5, 8...and then one time around 4am. She keeps pushing the middle of the night feeding later and later, so last night I tried giving her a pacifier instead of feeding at the 4am feeding....she slept more until 5:15 which I then had to feed her. She hasn't been eating very much during that feeding, so I am trying to slowly phase it out and keep pushing it later and later until it becomes the early morning feeding.

I am still breastfeeding exclusively so I can't help you on the amount. She DOES however still take long naps. Sometimes they are 2 1/2 hrs long and I have to wake her up to stay on some type of schedule. I would say she sleeps about 7 hrs during the day. She is sleeping around 10 or 11 hrs at night....I don't know if it is too much, but it seems to be working for her.
