milk not in after 8 days

my baby boy is 8 days old and nursing is going terrible!how do I tell if milk is in?he was feeding ok and now he fights and hardly gets any.started pumping but only get about 1/2 to 1 oz.total.he is so hungry and i feel terrible,shouldn't i be able to tell if my milk is in?what i do pump out looks like skim milk consistency.i'm almost ready to go to the fomula,need advise!!!!

Hello,
Please go and see a lactation consultant before doing anything else!! It's very important becasue it may be that your son doesn't have a good latch, also try taking some fenugreek capsules, this will increase your milk supply. But please go and see your lactation consultant..
