Our wee girl is 14 months now and drinks 3 (6 oz) bottles of milk per day. She drinks water from a sippy cup without problem for a long time and she is a really good eater. She eats cereal, meats, veggies, pasta, rice, yogurt, cheese ...What I'm saying is she gets lots of nutrition from these foods.

We are trying to switch her from bottle to sippy cup for milk but she won't look at the sippy cup when it comes to milk. We have tried getting a very different looking cup for the milk so that she differentiate from the water cup but she won't drink milk from anyhting but her Avent bottle.

Do you have any recommendations for a good sippy cup to switch to that might aid acceptance. My feeling is that the no-spill devices makes it too much of an effort to drink milk from the sippy cup but without it the milk goes everywhere if she turns the bottle upside down ?

Bearing in mind that she is doing so well eating a good variety of foods how much milk does she need to be drinking ?

You have been a great help to us in the past so I hope you can provide some insight to us on this issue.

Hi,
I am glad that I hav ebeen able to help in the past and I hope that I can this time as well!! :) Have you used the avent type sippy cup? I'm sure you probably have but it's worth asking. I think Avent even has a sippy type nipple that you can attach to the bottle, that may help. Although the best thing may be to just take the valve out of the no spill cups anyway because they have been shown to have some negative input into speech development. You will just have to wash more clothes!! :)
Hope this helps..
Kathy
P.S Your daughter needs to be getting approx 16-24 oz of milk per day that includes yoghurt, chees etc as well.
