I found this on a site my husband posts on. I think all mothers bf and not should be offended by this attitude.
I was at the local county fair last weekend and we were watching this dog agility show. Funny to see the little critters run... but anyways I was sitting in the front row of the bleachers with my wife. This family sits down next to me. After a while, I notice that she is breastfeeding her infant right next to me, during the show, in the front row of what had to be at least 75 people sitting behind - at a dog show with an additional crowd of people standing around.
Now, I know that this could be "a beautiful thing" between a mother and a baby, but why in the heck do that in a public setting next to somebody like me? I was offended because I don't want to be near that stuff, and it's like quit showing off your frickin' baby and breast!!!!! Argh!!!!
All of a sudden, I felt like I couldn't look in her direction, thus miss half the dog show. Like if I did I'd be a pervert or something. You know what??? That baby looked not more than 3 months old, why in the heck don't you skip the fair this year until your baby can be taken out in public?!!!!!
It makes me so angry that mothers with children think they can do anything they
want. It's almost arrogant. If my foot happens to be in the way, it's OK to roll over my heel with your carriage. Excuse me if I can't ignore your crying baby at the 1) movie theater, 2) fancy restaurant, 3) standing in line at the supermarket, or 4) at a dog show.
I'm ok with children, mothers, all that stuff. But please, I get offended when someone is lactating next to me!!!! Anyone have any similar complaints?"
