Hi Kathy,
My son is almost 14months old and his ped said that I can keep giving him the 3 bottles until he is 2yrs old. Then my sister in law came home from her ped and she said that she should omit all her bottles. Now I am so confused, what should I do?? I really want him to get all his milk.
Please help Kathy!!
Thanks
Confused

Hi Lisa,
In my opinion all bottles should be gone by about 15months of age, becasue there is really no need for them after that. Plus they have be attributed to dental problems if they are continued after that time. I would start by taking the middle of the day one away, you should put some milk in a sippy cup at that time. Then I would do the morning bottle and then the evening bottle. Each start putting milk in a sippy cup to replace the bottle and then your son should get enough milk. As they get older they don't need as much milk anymore, at your son's age they should have between 16oz and 20oz a day and that includes any yogurt, cheeses etc.
Hope this helps.
Kathy
