Help!! Baby Not Sleeping!!

Hello,
My baby won't sleep!!!! He is 14lbs and he will not go to sleep, if and when he does it is either lying on my husband or my chest and then he will only sleep for a max of about an hour!! We are desperate, I don't know what to do, can someone please help us!!! Any hints or ideas are welcome!!

Well you are not the only parents with this problem, so don't worry I am going to help you but first I need to ask you a couple of questions.How often are you feeding your baby during the day?? Does your baby spit up alot?? I ask these questions because these answers are very important to what I am going to tell you to do ok!!!! Looking forward o hearing back from you!!

Hi auzziekat,
we are trying to feed every three hours although it is very hard because he tends to spit up alot,actually I would even call it throwing up. So yes to your question about spitting up!! Please help!!

Hi Melissa,
Well it sounds as though your little guy may have reflux which is when the juices from the stomach come back up the esophegus and therefore cause burning and pain. I would go to your pediatrician asap and get some zantac and he may prescribe reglan. Uintil then you can try putting a towel or blanket under your baby's crib mattress to elevate his head as that seems to help with the pain which is why he is only sleeping on your chest.
