My baby is 4 months old, and we have been successfully nursing with a nipple shield since her first week. In the past few weeks, though, I've found that sometimes, when she nurses at the right breast (usually at night, lying down), it becomes unbearably itchy and a little painful (like a pinch). There are no other symptoms of thrush and no real pain. But it's so uncomfortable that I sometimes have to stop her and put her on the other breast. Any ideas of what could be causing this? Thanks.
