I was planning on giving my baby rice cereal for the first time this weekend. She is 5 months old.

How long do I just give her rice cereal for? And then when do I start adding other vegetables?

To make the vegetables, do I just boil them and them put them in the food processor? Do I add water or bm to thin it out?

Also, which vegetables and in what order do I introduce them? I am trying to find this info on the web, but no luck so far. I am going to go see my dr at the end of the month, but am just curious....

thanks!

Hi,
Here is what I do:
I give them cereal for 2 weeks, then I add a little pureed banana to it.
Then I start on the vegetables, I start with the yellow veggies first, like carrots sweet potatoes and squash, then go to peas, beans etc. Yes steam them in about 3 inches of water the puree them adding a little bm. Make sure you only introduce one food at a time and do it every three days so this way you can tell if your baby is allergic to anything and what it is.

Goodluck
