I am writing this to make more parents aware of the dangerous products we all have in our homes. When we think of what can harm our kids we don't often think of the personal care products we keep around the house. Even many hair conditioners can kill you child if injested at small amounts because of the harmful chemicals it contains. No one locks up personal care products so this is something all our kids are at risk from. Cleaning products are such toxic poisons that we should not even keep them in our homes locked up or otherwise. Any one with toddlersor babies knows they are sneaky little things and will crawl up behind you while you clean the bathroom or reach up into the dishwasher as you fill it with detergent. I recently switched my home over to non toxic household products that are naturally based and don't contain harmful chemicals. another thing that a lot of people don't consider is the long term consiquenses of using these chemicals and having them in our homes. Childhood Athsma and Cancer rates continue to rise at a phenomenal rate.
a week after finding a safe natural dishwasher detergent I had just finished squirting it into the holding cup when I turned my head and reached up onto the counter for another cup just then my 2 year old daughter walked by and on her way she reached down and took a finger full of the gel type liquid and put it in her mouth. It all happened in just a second. If I had not made the switch to a safe product she would either be dead right now or requiring multiple surgeries to open her burnt and destroyed esophogous. Dish washer detergent is the #1 poison that kills kids. It is a super strong, caustic and toxic chemical and is often stored under the sink and is put in the dishwasher at toddler level.
I am so thankful that I made the decision to get these dangerous chemicals out of my home.
If you would like to know where I found my safe alternatives drop me a note. Its just not worth it to keep chemical cleaners etc. in our houses when there are effective, safe , economical alternatives readily available. PLEASE KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE.
